Everyone is busy. You work long and crazy hours. You’re pulled in multiple directions at once. Your kids make you French toast with whipped cream and sprinkles and syrup on the 5th day of your new diet (ok, maybe that’s just me). Your health slowly erodes. You may experience chronic health issues like migraines or back pain, or one day, your back might just give out on you.
If we try to “be healthier,” our approach is often extreme and our expectations unrealistic. Try this instead: Approach each week with the intention of taking the babiest of steps in a healthier direction. What is the tiniest change you can make that feels easy? Can you floss one tooth? Take a vitamin? Walk 50 more steps? Because these tiny steps steer your ship in a different direction. And in a year, or two, you will find yourself, miraculously it feels, in a healthier place without effort.
