So often show morning show meetings focus on the urgent — what are we doing on tomorrow’s show? It’s good practice to step back from time to time to evaluate how all the systems are working. Here’s a simple framework for a meeting of this type.
Considering the three aspects of any team — product, people and patterns — have every player answer the following questions on paper:
- What is on your mind about the show?
- What is your biggest challenge?
- What do you need?
- How can you help?
After everyone has written down their answers, go around the room and discuss. You are bound to uncover obstacles — maybe huge, maybe minor — that are getting in the way of the show operating at your potential.
